    Progress report: .....
So I'm applying to art school this year. Been thinking about it, and known which school I want to go to, since last Christmas, so I ordered the submission details mailed to me a couple of months ago - sometime in September. One one-to-two-page comic, one caricature, three lifedrawings, four self-chosen examples of my work. Easy, right? The only thing I was slightly cloudy on was the four self-chosen things - did they want comic pages (since it's a comic artist's school) or single one-shot images?

    But yeah. Easy.

Only yesterday, I went to have a look at their homepage, and now it says they want a one page comic and four lifedrawings - and now I'm confused. I've got my two-page comic sketched out, you see, as well as layout sketches for the four self-chosen examples (all of them comics), and now I really need answers. Do they want single images for the self-chosen things after all (even though it didn't sound that way when I asked them at the Student Fair back in November)? Will they still accept my two-page comic, or will I have to re-plan everything I've done these past few weeks?

We've sent them an e-mail asking if we can come visit, and received no answer yet (to be fair, we sent it only yesterday), but I'm thinking we probably can - college/universities here in Sweden tend to be very accomodating, if they think it can get them more students. When we visit, I'm planning to ask them to speak clearly on these subjects - and I'm thinking of patching away another e-mail, asking specifically about the submission guidelines if I don't get an answer by Friday.

.... Isn't it fun to have no fucking idea what you're required to do? If I get in, the first thing I'm going to do is demand suggest they make some clearer guidelines. "Four self-chosen examples of your work, one coloured" - aha? And do you want still life, character designs, single full-page images or comic pages? The field is wide goddamn open, considering you're a comic artist's school!

Yes. I'm done now. If anyone actually reads this and wonders - my fanfiction-cum-original-fiction is put on the backburner while I keep up with my webcomic, write two fairytales and illustrate the cover of a fairytale anthology and get the material for my college application ready. Somehow.
